Will first gen psd headstuds fit 7.3 idi?

So found a really good deal on some first gen psd headstuds and i want to eventually throw a turbo on my 7.3 idi na and i know the first thing you have to do before increasing compression is replace headstuds. So will the headstuds for a psd fit my 94 7.3 idi na?

98% sure psd uses 12mmx1.75, they do seem to be the same length though, at least the long ones.

7.3 with head bolts can handle up to about 20 PSI, IIRC. If you keep it to 10-12 psi max -- which is about what you can get out of a banks/hypermax/ats turbo kit and a stock IP -- you are fine.

Remember, these kits were sold without headstuds being required.

I think it was Tom that said he just re-torqued the stock head studs and it's all good for 10-12 psi. Like Macrobb said, Those kits are for stock studs and pumps anyway. But, if you already got her torn down, studs wouldn't hurt. Peace of mind

7.3PSD is 12mm, the 7.3IDI is 1/2", so no. R&D has the 7.3IDI stud kit for a very good price.
You can do the studs one at a time if you're careful, at least I know you can on the 6.0. Just take the head bolt out, thread the stud in, paint it with Ultra Torque and then spin the nut down. Make sure you do the full torque before going on to the next one.

After my experience of breaking some bolts trying to get them out, im not sure i would even try to retorque them, unless you pulled em and lubed them (assuming you could get them out) Also, 7.3 headbolts permanently stretch when torqued just a little over stock spec. 6.9 bolts however, seem to be alot better quality.
