Reported problems
To make this list, a problem must have been reported or observed multiple times, or at least reproducible if reported once. Last updated: February 12, 2017.
- AC not efficient
- Body panel alignment
- Burning Rubber Smell (might be associated with regen, but has also been observed on gas trucks)
- Chain hooks do not fit
- Cheap paint, chips easily
- Clearance lights not flush to roof
- Console/media door broken
- Coolant leak/odor
- Cooling seats heat back
- Door not latching
- Easily dented
- Excessive brake dust (adaptive cruise may be a contributing factor)
- Front camera blurry/water in camera
- Frozen door locks
- Frozen Tailgate Latch
- Harness on the AC line
- Head liner frayed around ceiling console (two users affected)
- Leaking around clearance lights/moonroof
- Miles-to-empty inaccurate on 34 gallon tanks
- Moisture in headlights (might be normal in some conditions)
- Oil pump failure
- Poor rear camera quality
- Poor sound quality (clips at high volumes)
- Popping noise - hubs are locked upon delivery
- Rail dust
- Seat uncomfortable/lumbar too pronounced (possible workaround: remove lumbar cable mechanism)
- Sync 3 crashes or goes black
- Tailgate step doesn't eject
- Transmission Fluid Leaks
- Weak windshields
- Wheel covers difficult to remove
- Wheel covers not on tight, fall off

Interesting compilation. Some are real problems; others mere annoyances. Some are not problems (audio system is what it is, for example). Some are carryover "problems" such as the one I posted about not being able to remove the dually hub covers. Not all, or even most, of the problems are widespread. I think things are decent for the first few months of a brand new model.

Hmm so far I don't really think I have any of these except burnt rubber= regen--would we feel better with a lilac smell? Seats solved by dropping lumbar support to lowest level for me at least. Doubt paint issue is Ford specific but could be wrong and so far paint like previous new vehicles. I don't know but I am pretty happy with my vehicle but I will admit when I read these negative posts I start going over the vehicle with a microscope so I might just quit reading I guess.

My 1985 F250 with a blue metallic paint did flake however after over 5 yrs and Ford did repaint the hood and top. The rest of the truck did not need attention.

Are these chips that go completely through to the metal? Or are they just into the clear coat?
