no start

2004 6.0 255k miles new dieselsite hpop pump, oil cooler, nipple cup orings, new top injector orings on the front 2 on both sides, new standpipes and dummy plugs. Ran fantastic for about 1000 miles plowed 5 hours straight no problems.

Parked the truck after plowing, sat for 3-4 days. no start now. ipr 86%, icp 350, cpv .5 ish. icp and icpv have steadily gone down from that each time I try to start it with the last time the icp was 100. will not start with the icp unplugged. did an air test, oil mist out of the oil fill tube. using a funnel to listen, clear air leak. faint air sound from the oil filter housing and ccv tube. ipr had some aluminum flakes on the screen but not torn.

ticks me off that it ran great until I shut it off and now seems like another oring failed. will delve deeper tomorrow.

O-ring near the pump got chewed up. A friend just did this same thing. He sent the pump back for a test, pump was good.

I'm wondering if you might have switched the two around? It happens.

anything is possible.

would I still get a oil mist out of the oil fill tube if it was just that?

Oil fill tube goes to the passenger valve cover... you got a leak under there! That's about even with a stand pipe.

I figured...

with new stand pipes and nipple cup orings it's probably on an injector

Take the valve cover off and fire it up.

pulled the valve cover and put air to it and closed the ipr. no change in the sound (ipr opened or closed) with tons of air blowing thru . pulled the stand pipe and put a dummy plug in no air leak at all. pulled the ipr connected 12 volts to it and when it would click,it was sometimes strong some weak. grabbed the old one and tested it, same thing.

leaning towards the ipr valve. going to see if I can borrow a known good one.

put in a suspected working ipr, no change. sounds like its leaking down in the standpipe area. doesn't leak with a dummy plug in the standpipe hole.

Are you running the updated standpipes? That Adrenaline pump is going to find the weakest link and beat on it.....

yes, updated those when I did the pump. also did nipple cup orings, the 4 leaking injector top rings and the oil cooler.

need to figure this out, my wife is going to make me send it to a shop soon...

A mist of oil coming out the oil filler hole isn't going to be a IPR

charging the batteries tonight. Hopefully my wife will give me a few hours to mess with it.

with the standpipe being the leaking link, and its 2 months old, orings look fine what else can be leaking like this?
