What's the rubberized material to the left/right of the radiator called? Just behind the grill. Mine is torn. Has anyone come up with a suitable replacement?
You can buy them from Ford. They're a little pricey. They are meant to prevent road salt and grime from entering the engine compartment and they also are designed to direct air through the radiator. I had a torn one, and I repaired it.
Thanks for the link. I found them after some quick searching. Look to be about $15 each. Not too bad if they'll last. It would be nice to find some similar material. I can take mine off and trace around to make a pattern.
Hadn't thought of that. Next time I'm in WalMart or grocery, maybe I could cut a section from one of the checkout lines without them noticing.
Excellant idea! I always go to Wal Mart when I need new wiper blades. With the F-150s being so popular, less then 2 minutes after I park I'm back on my way with a new/ lightly used set.

Thanks for all the input. I just got this pickup with several little things that I want to get fixed up.
I'm a manager of a large public venue; we have 1.2 million indoor exhibit space and over 400 acres of outdoor space. Nonetheless, we get used conveyor belts from UPS; as, they change them out after so long and apparently don't wait for failure. Meborder is right, it is very robust material. We use it for a variety of purposes. We have this large outdoor area that is a high traffic area for pedestrians, golf carts, Gators (the light utility vehicle not the reptile) and the occasional fork-lift. During rainy days this area was not passable. The conveyor belt made a stellar road surface.
UPS has a major shipping hub just down the street from where I work; we have an agreement with them to obtain the used-up conveyors. They have a gargantuan package handling facility that has huge conveyors that move those big shipping containers that fit on 747's & 767's. . I know that doesn't help you get them though. Maybe you can try a local factory or a google search my be lucky.
Good luck with your new truck. They are great vehicles!
But, since this truck is new to me, I guess I'll go with OEM replacements. At least for now, and see how long they last, once the "new to me" wears off, I may try something different.
