Stock Turbo 94 air inlet, how hard to make better

I don't think there is much in the way of tangible gains to be had there, just my supposition. Some do cowl induction, Hypermax sells a piece premade to attach the hose to the cowl. I'll probably go that route eventually to try to clean up the engine bay. Either way, biggest difference you'll see is pulling air from anywhere ambient or close to it vs from the hot engine bay, it makes a real difference in EGT.

I've run a 4" semi-rigid aluminum dryer duct up to the front by the grill for years. Over the last 3 months I've had my first turbo on there, and I can say that I *only* hit 14-15 PSI when doing about 80mph @ WOT. Otherwise it's no higher than 13psi no matter the conditions, even towing WOT up hill.
That tells me the ram air is doing something. oh and I should note that I did a common mod and cut out some of the radiator support to get air to the duct. There is still plenty of steel holding up the rad.
However I don't have a comparison to the stock snorkel as I never used it.
Even better than that is making the exhaust housing a true 3" exit vs the dumb 2.5" exit Ford decided to use. Then max your pump and have more fun!
Another note, Justin did a dyno run with multiple factors, one being open turbo inlet(literally open, no filter either) and then compared it to the factory intake+snorkel. The dyno showed no restrictions on the factory set-up. Actually it technically showed an increase but Justin pointed out that it was inside the margin of error for the dyno so is statistically irrelevant.

The Borg Warner S360 I got produced a /lot/ of whistle... but not a lot of boost. Once I got a really tight .63 housing on it, /then/ I got plenty of boost(Up to 30 PSI, limited by the 110 cc's of fuel at that point.
If you want more whistle with the existing turbo, you need to open the exhaust up. Straight pipe it or use a straight through glasspack muffler.
