oil pressure

is ther a digital gauge stating actual pressure in stead of the swing guage on dash . mine shows barely half way . sometimes below halfway . I'm sure no big deal . but I'm old school and like to see my oil pressure gauge riding high , really high lol

In recent years Ford has used what is referred to as an "idiot gauge". It looks like a gauge, but works like an idiot light. If there is oil pressure, it reads the same reading all the time. This is why the pressure needle never moves, even at idle.

My dealer told me years ago that Ford eliminated satisfaction complaints of low oil pressure by making people think they have great oil pressure all the time in this way.
To answer your question, I don't know about the 2017 as I've not received mine. This is intended to let you know how its been done in the past.

It started at least as long ago as 1976 on my E-150. I think my 1971 F100 had the same thing so it is more than just recent years to many.
