GREETINGS
Greetings fellow FTEs,
I’m a new member (EQCMCAT) aka Don and thought I’d chime in for the first time since joining. This past Summer 2016 was fortunate to pick-up a 1977 F-150 4 X 4 though largely sight unseen other than pictures from the PO combined W/an ongoing dialog via E-mail, we came to a mutual agreement. Since taking physical custody, first order has been to get her back into OEM emission configuration enabling to pass California smog test. Of which I haveto admit the California Smog referee was wonderful to work W/. Since then it’s continues to be a true passion to work on. Like to mention the difference between my late Father’s 1977 and ours (Fe and mine) is the color scheme, Dad’s was blue and silver and ours red and silver.
A little about myself. Grew up in a Ford family, late Father worked43 ½ years at the former Walton Hills, Ohio Stamping Plant, though originally from PA, so I’m a hillbilly and on occasion my wife will remind as such “you’re really a hillbilly”. Firmly believe, a happy wife enables a good balanced life. Navy brought me to California in the early 80’s and haven’t left yet, but plan to after fully retiring. After getting my license in 1976 got my first truck, a 1956 Dodge Step Side. Thereafter they’ve all been Fords, a 1971 F-100 former East Ohio Gas truck, 1979 F-100, 1988 Ford Ranger that I regret selling, 1990 Ford Ranger, 1992 Ford Ranger that’s my daily driver, 1993 F-150Supercab W/~ 27K miles and haven’t used since 1999, a 1995 F-150 Eddie Bauer (formerly cosmetically wrecked), a 1995 F-150 Lighting 51.K miles (an unplanned acquisition) and our 1977 F-150 4 X 4. Not planning on acquiring anymore at present. Although while attending the 2015 annual Fabulous Ford Car and Truck show, I really wanted to come home the 1972 F-150 4 X 4 shortbed all original, but owner was not remotely interested departing W/it.
Since taking possession our 1977, recorded items I’ve done and they are as follows:
