Bully Side Steps

Hi! I would like to order a pair of Side Steps for my Truck. I have been looking at Bully from Summit. Can anyone help me out here and recommend
anything that fits our Trucks. Looks like there are different mountings for
their models. I want the basic look in alu and nothing Hi-Tech. Thanks!

Actually, the 79 has cab-length diamond-plate running boards, while the other two trucks are currently bare

I've oredered a set of universal fit DeeZee tube-style rails for the brown truck. They'll be delivered next week. I'll definitely let y'all know how they work out

Thanks! I just want something "basic". Maybe something like this small Side Steps. I dont know if they feel unstable mounted to the body and not the frame?

Those look nice, and are relatively unobtrusive, but I went for the frame mount, cuz I don't feel confident throwing my 280 pound self onto a sheet-metal mount step

I'd think eventually I'd either pull the screws out or flex the body panel. Either way is not the sturdy step I'm seeking

I bought a set of Bully steps used on CL and they were supposed to be for a 2006 per the seller. I used the stock bottom hole and had to re-drill the top hole down a bit because the stock hole would have come out into the door frame just under the weather stripping. There is plenty of room for two holes mounting to the pinch weld on the under side of the cab and it is nice and solid stepping in. Can't beat it for $22 + $10 in stainless steel hardware. I can climb under and get some pictures of the bottom side if you want, but here they are mounted.

PapaBearYuma. I think you are right about the stability and I am not a lightweight guy either. If I am going to use the small Bully Side Steps I am going to build and mount the Steps to a Bracket attached to the Frame.
If not I think I will make a "Copy" of your Dee Zee Step Bar from a 3" pipe.
This because shipping from USA is going to be a pain for this size of a package.
Thanks! /Mats
Ps. Can I send ou a PM with a question about your copper colored Truck?

I just put these Bully steps on my 1978 F150 from Summit Racing. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/plt-as-600 Mounted them to the body pinch weld right in front of the brace that runs cross ways. Put in an extra bolt thru the step into the cross brace. Very sturdy and I weigh 290 lbs. Took about a half hour to install them. Pretty easy.

yes I have used these same ones located just as you describe.

Nice and sturdy - no issues.

I just put some Made in USA CARR ones on a truck. I think Bully ripped off CARR - they are pretty much identical as I can tell.

I would've just bought the Bully's again but could not find them in polished like your link shows!
