My Order -- Body Shop Delay help

So I order on 08/03 and my truck was built on 11/06.

I just called my dealer and they said it has been sitting at the "body shop" since 11/06.
My dealer said they are calling the Texas ford representative to get us a better answer. They are suppose to get back to us today or tomorrow.

I asked my dealer if it was the big spray on bed liner delay that everyone is talking about on this forum and he said no he did not think it was a spray on bed liner delay and had no idea what the delay was for and said we would have to wait on the texas representative to shed more light on this.

Can someone help calm me down and give me a idea of what might be happening? I thought it was the spray on bed liner delay and the dealer was very confident that is not the case.

The ford order processing is so messed up, if I wasn't "so close" to getting my truck I would just go ahead and switch to another manufacturer. I am hoping the truck is so nice once I get it that I forget about all this bull crap associated with waiting on the truck.

Your truck probably got a whiskey dent in when they made the daily grocery store run. Look for a wadded up receipt in the door pocket when you finally get it.

I was going to purchase a truck from a dealer last month (dealer ordered truck) instead of ordering the truck I really wanted to save time and hassle. The truck was built on 10/16 and I was supposed to have my truck on 11/7... It still shows "In transit" on their dealer web site. I found the an exact truck that I was going to order, two weeks ago from a dealer 150 mi's from me. Great price and experience. Maybe look around for one on a dealers lot around your area.

I'm fairly certain you will find out its the bed liner
Also some of us at least in Canada are locked in to the truck we ordered to get the same deal as time of order (I have family pricing -$14,000 plus -$1000 for Costco card plus 1.9% finance) if I go and get one off the lot now I loose all that and get today's deal -$4000 and maybe -$3000 from dealer and 0% so I loose around $6000 on the deal

If you ordered the bedliner then more than likely it's the bedliner. Don't expect Ford to tell you much of anything. All they will do is to wait for the new ETA to be released and then they will call and tell you that.

So my ETA was 11/21. Long past that and sprayin bed liner is ordered. Yesterday I got on chat and they escalated my case. Today I was contacted through email and all they said was some else will be contacting me next Tuesday with more information. Well I replied to the email with my rant. Basically telling I'm very disappointed with Ford and how the company is managed. I told them when I hear about trucks ordered after mine and they are getting there bedliners in a day and are getting their trucks it's not right. Also it know of servel people on this forum who have waited much longer then i have to get their trucks. Not a happy camper.

I ordered w/o spray-in liner, my salesman actually said it wasn't worth the hassle due to the backlog, and questionable quality. I think going forward people should look to aftermarket.

I have the factory spray in my 2014 and line x in my 2011 both trucks worked about the same and both liners still look like new just traded the 2011 in on my 17 that I'm waiting on. I have seen the video of the line x guy taking the factory one out I'm constantly dragging skids in my 2014 with a fork lift also sled with carbide runners on skis and no damage yet. As for the delay from factory that really sucks and I asked my dealer to remove it but he said it's too late. For me the closest line x dealer is 3 hrs away so the factory is the way to go other than this damm delay!!!

The "released to body" statement that your dealer told you is a dead give-a-way that it is the bed liner. There are a lot of us right there with you too. Oddly enough, another guy on here (can't remember his name) just received his truck, bed liner and all, even after ordering a full month after me. Go figure...

Look at it this way. When the lot is full it winds up last in, first out.

Funny you mention that! That is exactly what I was envisioning in my head!

Buuuuuuuuuuut....I finally got news that my truck is on the move. In fact, it is currently only 1.5 hours away, and may be to the dealer tomorrow!

I hope it is true what they say: "Once the truck is here, you will forget all the stress you had waiting." Not sure who "they" are, but I hope it's true!

That is great news. I still have a couple of days but I should be able to pick it up Thursday morning. Box liner done today and dealer and tire stuff tomorrow. I don't know if you read my post about forgetting about the ordeal, but I am willing to bury the hatchet with Ford. But my problem is I never forget where the hatchet is buried!!.
