This made me laugh

I'm sure He didn't actually say that being He passed in 1947. I'm guilty with my 250 6 cylinder. It's what I had at the time. I plan putting a flattie in when one comes along. I know others on here are guilty as well. I just like the look and sound of a flat head v8 .

I too like it. And I still cannot figure out why when there are so many good Ford motors out there.

Later!

I had 3 chevy engines sitting in the garage but i still bought and built a Ford for my builds. If you ever see the car guy's face change expression when he sees a chevy engine in our trucks explains it all. The one engine i really would like to do is a Mercedes diesel in a 4wd version of our trucks.

At our local Saturday morning show there is a guy with a beautiful black 57 Chevy with a 427 Ford engine, I love to see all the pissed off Chevy guys when they look.

Gotta go with you on this there are great motors of all makes but IMHO if you build a Ford put a Ford in it . But in some defence until the more recent popularity of the fox body Mustang's in drag racing it was much easier and cheaper to build a small block Chev

Cute sign but, Henry would probably spin in his grave if he could be made aware of all the different manufacturer's engines Ford trucks have been built with over many years. I am talking new, assembly line builds. Think modern, Navistar.
Edit: Now we have Cummins as a viable option.

I was at a fairly large show at Lake Havasu a few years back and one of the judges came by and looked in a fellow club member's truck then abruptly turned and started to walk off. I asked him what was up...he said that it didn't matter how nice a Ford truck looked on the outside that he personally wouldn't give it a second look if it had a Chevy engine in it. I just smiled...the truck's owner was a closet Chevy guy, it wasn't long after that that he left the club and sold the truck. He should be happier driving his Nova now...

Motors a motor in my eyes. If I were to ever put my truck in a show(which I wouldn't) and someone gave me a dirty look for my motor and didn't look at the build for what it is, a build(time and money), I don't want you looking at my truck anyway.

I built my panel for me and really couldn't care if it got a second look from anyone, you either like it or dislike it and move on. The one I'm building now is all Ford and not likely to please everyone either..

Amen. This from a guy building an F100 with a Corvette front and rear suspension and a 454. And maybe painted a foreign car color. LOL.

I could care less what others think about my truck, I am building it for myself and nobody else. I like to keep the hood closed anyway...
