shortening a 1991 F150 frame ( long bed to short bed)
Hey everyone!
So, this last weekend i had the misfortune of having to move all of my parts trucks and my project trucks to one location. while it was a bit of an undertaking. seeing the trucks in a line sparked an idea. a devious idea.
One of my projects i currently have going is the Brick, a 1991 F150 regular cab longbed 4x4. its gonna be a fun toy, 302/ 5 speed.... but ive always loved short boxes. and sure enough, there, on one of my parts trucks, is a fairly decent short box, ripe for the picking.
Before we go through the usual arguments, yes, i know i could find another truck, but this one only has 50,000 miles. I'm not looking for reasons not to do it, im just asking if someone has already been down this road, and if so, any advice or pictures.
Thanks!

I'm liking that its all one straight shot, and not having to take out several smaller sections in different places.

A few years back on one of those cable car/truck TV shows they went through the "proper" procedure on shortening a truck frame. The only thing I recall is that it was NOT a straight cut through the frame, but maybe that's widely known.
Unless you're doing some sort of custom length, it would seem to me the better idea is to just buy a truck with the length you want.
