How many miles do you have on your 5.0?
I'm about to roll 89,000. Bought new in August 2013. No issues whatsoever. Going to do spark plugs soon. Changed the water pump at around 65K.
Anybody having issues other than the ticking noises that seem to be discussed here?
Looking to add a tuner and exhaust and maybe some airbags to help it tow the trailer a bit better.

I pushing 83,000 miles on mine. 2011 4x4 XLT s/cab 6.5 box. Only issues was a tune up at 52k miles and an o2 sensor failed at 76k miles. Other than that the truck has been flawless. I purchased the ole girl in late Sept. 2014 with 35k on the clock. She still put a smile on my every time I mash the go pedal.

39,XXX. Had 6 miles on it when I took delivery in May of 2013. So far, as is well. No engine issues.
My buddy has an ecoboost. Both turbo units failed on a cross-country trip with his 6,500 lb camper. He bought his truck new also in May of 2013 and has similar miles to me. The turbo units were replaced under warranty. The wastegates failed in both.

Oh well...I tried to warn him.

Yeah my brother has a '13 like me but he got the EcoBust also. His only has 61,000 on it and it's been in the shop for a week due to a "miss" in the engine that he says still isn't 100% cured. Shop told him the O2 sensors were fouled and in the process of fixing that stuff they had to take half the dang engine apart and broke an injector.
Oh well...I tried to warn him.

Truth be told, my F-150 is in the shop too right now. However, it is not an engine issue; it's the clutch pack in the limited-slip differential. It was starting to groan and vibrate in the morning. However, this is the only mechanical issue my vehicle has had (not caused by my dealer; that is another story). The clutch pack is covered by the power train warranty. Next time I'll have my dif gear-lube changed sooner. The friction-modifiers must have worn out very quickly causing this issue (just a guess). Although you'd think the gear-lube should last more than 39,000 miles even with a lot of towing.
BTW, I see you post in other threads; I read your name 'WeatherBoy' in my head. Not sure if that's what WX stands for, but that's how I read it!

42,XXX miles on my 2013. Oil changes every 5k, air filter at 25k and I did spark plugs at 40k to help resolve a slight stumble at idle. Be careful with the locking red tabs when you remove the COPs, I had 2 break off. They are redundant and not really needed, but a pain none the less.
As for issues, I needed to have the leadframe replaced in the transmission under warranty as a result of "stuck in 5th gear" condition and the rear pinion seal was replaced as it was leaking.
Mine developed the ticking sound others have described, but it only happens under certain engine temps/loads and is difficult to replicate. Hoping it happens more regularly so I can take it to the dealer and not be sent out the door with "could not duplicate problem"

42 K on 12' 4x4 SC. I've put 7 K on since I bout it August 9. Yea I know I drive to d--n much. Since I've had it fixed leak at coolant reservoir, fixed rear pinion seal, and took it to Ford shop for engine noise and what I thought was metal filings in my drip pan when I changed oil. I think it was contamination on my part from the cross member in front of oil pan. Love truck. Hopefully smooth sailing for awhile now..

96,500 miles on my 2wd 2012 157"wb 5.0. I bought it new in December of 2012.
To this point I've averaged 19.2 mpg on the lie-o-meter over those miles.
I did the plugs at 79,000 miles, installed a new set of tires at 83,000 and did front rotors/pads at 93,000 miles. The front pads weren't completely shot but the rotors were warped so I started over with Powerstop rotors and Wagner TQ ceramic pads. I use Mobil 1 XP and change it at 10,000 mile intervals.
Issues?
The drive train developed a bump just before the truck went out of warranty and Long Lewis Ford pumped a little "blue grease" in the driveshaft slip joint. That cured the bump and it hasn't returned. No other issues or complaints.
Great truck.
