Replaced Accellerator Pedal Assy & Nothing
Howdy Yall, I recently bought a 2002 F250 Super Duty with the 7.3 TD and for the most part am happy with it. We had an issue with the accelerator pedal not working and the gauges going out which was the fuse #45 issue which I pulled the column apart and repaired.
About a week later the Accellerator position sensor quit working and I replaced the adjustable pedal with a fixed pedal from NAPA cause it had a lifetime warranty and all worked fine.
2 days ago the pedal went dead again. everytime we step on it it lights up the Check Engine Symbol but does not rev up. I called NAPA and had them overnight a replacement pedal assy and received it yesterday. When I installed this one I still have absolutely nuttin!!!
The fuse #45 is good, this is a new Accellerator position sensor assembly, what else could be causing the truck to not throttle up? Could I have gotten a junk part from Napa? Is there a way to test this?
Please help, We are down to one Jeep with 258000 miles that needs front ball joints and control arm bushings badly and I need this truck to use while I fix the Jeep.
Thanks,
Broc

Now I am really confused
Ok, I humored the father in law and unhooked the batteries to reboot the computer and now the new pedal assembly works like a charm!. The issue is I didn't fix anything so I feel like I am sitting on a ticking time bomb!
Is there a way to test the pcm?
On or off the truck?
will this show an issue when its not currently having the issue?
What should I be checking for, I don't want to give this to the wife when she is at her sisters 4 hours away without knowing the problem has been fixed and she shouldn't have any more dead pedal issues.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
