Crank but no start

Hey guys. Having an issue with my RC flatbed dually: it will turn over but not firing. So far I have replaced the CPS, and ICP (Had a code for it when I got it started the other day, but now it won't start again). A couple of weeks ago it was having no issue starting but one day it just wouldn't start, it was a week before I got a chance to work on it and the middle of last week I got it started. Today when I went to start it it is just turning over again... any ideas? I need to check the FP and HPOP reservoir oil level but will have to do that when I get off of work tomorrow. Any other things I should check? Thanks for the help!

Yeah, check all the fuses.
Also check the other million no start threads.

Ok, got it started. Checked the fuel pressure and oil level which both checked out good, then hooked it up to the battery charger and it started right up which leads me to believe voltage shortage? Any ideas?

Get the batteries load tested. The PCM has to see 10 -10.5 volts before it will tell the IDM to fire the injectors. Just for a quick check, check voltage while cranking at one of the batteries with a volt meter.

^^^^^ +1; minimum voltage and minimum RPM are critical at start-up. It'll SOUND like it's cranking fine, but......

Its like the frog in warm water getting hotter, you don't notice the starter getting old and slower until it won't start.

I checked the voltage while cranking (11.4) and had them load tested... they both tested good. For once the problem actually came up when I was at the auto parts store (only it just clicked... dead, nothing. It didn't turn over at all) I didn't get a chance to change it out last night but the passenger side cable end on the ground seems like it's not getting a good connection. Could that cause the issue possibly?

Were the batteries isolated, or removed from the truck, when you load tested them?

Yes, that bad connection could easily cause a no-start. Either a no-crank or a crank-no-start, depending on how bad.

one bad battery ground could mean up to a 50% power loss for cranking and 50% less reserve for GPs

They were disconnected when load tested.

Good to hear, and no surprise. Grounds on these trucks are both a critical component and a well-known weak point.
