Any Palomino Puma owners here?

Thinking about looking at a 351-THSS. Any opinions on them?

Also will be my first 5th wheel. Our TV is a 2001 F250 Lariat Supercab 7.3.

From what I have read I'm good up to 13,700?

I have a 2015 351 THSS. We've had lots of stupid little issues with it. Some things I've fixed, some the dealer has. Only major issue was a 2" hole in the subfloor that they just rolled the linoleum over. Dealer made a plug from the bottom to fill the hole. FR paid for a 50A upgrade and rear a/c unit for that little **** up.

Overall for what it costs vs. a lot of other toyhaulers out there, I'd say it's a decent trailer. I've done a bunch of mods to make it better. 50A and two a/c's is a must! I have 2 15k units. Also I'm not sure what is going on with the 2016 models. They lost a LOT of storage space inside compared to my 15. Also keep in mind there is no basement with this floorplan. I have no generator so I have that space, but the idiots did not reinforce the of the compartment, so nothing heavy can go in there. I plan on remedying that sometime soon. They also went to 6 lug axles from 8 lug, so I'm guessing they went to 5200lb axles, mine are 6k.

If you page through the toyhauler mods thread you'll see pics and what I've done with mine.

Pay a few more dollars and get away from Puma, I bought a 14, and wouldn't buy another one. Workmanship is shoddy at best. All kinds of things that pizz me off, that we didn't see until we had it a few months.

This isn't just Puma. It's the RV industry as a whole. One of our dealers technicians told me they got to visit a plant while in operation, and he was horrified. Not sure what brand, they were chased out as they were not supposed to be on an active line during their tour. They were supposed to be in a staged area. He also told me unless you drop a million on a coach, he's pretty sure they measure everything with a calibrated string!

My Puma isn't perfect. But Puma has stepped up to the plate and taken care of the workmanship issues with it, with ZERO hassle on my part. That goes a long way.

Thanks for the info, we are pretty sure we will be getting a 2017 PP 373QST. I have seen one and liked what I saw for the price. Now I need to make sure my rig can tow it safely.

I pulled our Montana Mountaineer 34'7" rig with our old trusty '02 F250. I had a 60 hp "tow" chip, 4" exhaust, boost and pyro gauges....pyro is a must if you ask me. It has a dry weight of 10.5K and loaded of 14k but we never hauled that heavy. You'll need a large trans cooler, a 6.0 or aftermarket one will work. I also had air bags on it cuzz it will definately sag in the rear. It will pull it but just don't try and pull a long grade full throttle w/o a pyro gauge, 1250 -1300 deg. and things start to melt.

We pulled the trigger today, Puma 373QSI is on order. Will be here in about 8 weeks. We ordered because there are some things that the stock unit on the lots have that really didn't interest me and we wanted to add something that you don't usually see in cookie stamped ones.

Congrats, now the wait begins! Ours was ordered also, we did the fuel cell delete, premier edition, solid black awning fabric, mattress upgrade, ladder, spare tire, upgraded flooring, and tank heaters. Nothing like being able to get just how you want it. If you haven't check out the toyhualer mods thread I started as I'm sure a few will apply to yours. What extra options did you go for?

We did similar, also deleted the fuel station, we opted out on the rear electric beds also leaving the garage empty for now except my wife wanted the washer / dryer setup. We upgraded the mattress, got a spare, alloy rims, second a/c, extra vent, ladder and all the usual appliances. We chose the L shaped couch in the slide out instead of the U shaped dinette. I was going to leave out the stereo but the dealer was adding exterior speakers and outside shower so I went ahead and got the stereo. Can't think of anything else at the moment. I made arrangements to have a car port large enough to cover it next to our shop. Think this will be a hard wait, kinda like it was when I was ordering Garands from the CMP.

I think I want to go the teflon pin disk route. What size is best for these Lippert framed Pumas? 10" or 12"?

I'd say bigger is better. Believe I have the 12" on mine. Of course if the head of the hitch isn't 12" or bigger then it's a wash. I have the Reese Elite and it has more than enough surface area for the 12" to sit completely on it.

Dang, this waiting is horrible. We have two days left before the expected day to come off the line, but being it's the day before Turkey day, it may be a week or more before delivery. God help us!

I just hope the fellas assembling it are doing their jobs right and not thinking about deer season or time off for the holidays.
