Thanks for the kind words. I'd like to ask one question about the headliner. I took out what I believe is the original one. It is (was) white. I got a grey one from Dennis Carpenter. I bought a can of gloss white spray paint for fabrics. Should I try to paint it white or put it in as is. I don't understand why DC wouldn't offer a white one.
As far as the split rims go: get rid of them, the sooner the better. Most tire places around here won't even work on them. Get some one piece rims to replace them, or just run what's on the truck.
Actually we have several tire shops around that deal with split rims daily. They took the old tires off the rims for me last week. I thought they would look 'boss' painted up on the pickup, Seafoam Green with the rings silver. For now I'm putting new Firestone radials on the current rims.
Those are the same type of rims that we had in the Army on the 2 1/2 and 5 ton trucks. Tire inflation cages were mandatory after a few guys were cut into thirds. I saw it throw a Warrent officer into a 20 ft high ceiling beam. He thought he could stand on the tire to make it seat. It didn't kill him, but the brain injury made him a vegatable. DOT has some good videos about it.
