2 Different Gauge Clusters for 2015's..
Interesting, here's the instrument cluster that's been publicized with center speedometer and digital tach that is selectable and can appear to the left.
And here's the dash from the 'Texas" model. Both are on Ebay. Interesting. I'm going to miss a real tach on the Platinum model.

Top one is the higher end dash. The bottom one is XLT and you dont get all the customizable setting with the lower end model. My guess would be that center screen doesn't give you much info whereas the one in the higher end models shows climate, audio, compass etc....
If you look at the other photos of the XLT version you can see it didn't get much upgrades anywhere over the 2014 model.

I messed this up so I'm correcting it.Ford calls the top one the TYPE III
and the bottom looks like the TYPE 1 & 2
I just finished reading my owners manual for my third Expy cover to cover since it's so drastically different from my '03 EB.

correcting this as well:
With the type 3, you get a whole selection of stuff on the left side display including full size digital tach with needle, or combinations of tach & temp or fuel or one of 2 different tripometers, full mileage etc or in the towing section there are all kinds of towing info, then in off-road it shows the attitude in degrees both longitudinally and axially...pretty slick setup.
On the right side display is a choice of nav, entertainment selections or phone.....

I have downloaded the MY15, MY16 and MY17 Expedition Owner's manuals.
This is what I have found in those Owner's Manuals:
MY15 p.104, MY16 p.92, MY17 p.91 have a drawing showing
Type 1 & Type 2 Information Displays/Instrument Clusters with
Left. Round tachometer w/coolant gauge,
. Center. Rectangular Info Display Screen
.. Right. Round speedometer w/fuel gauge.
MY15 p.106, MY16 p.99, MY17 p.98 have a drawing showing
Type 3 Information Displays/Instrument Clusters with
Left. Square Info Display Screen, configurable
. Center. Round speedometer w/PRNDM shift lever indicator
.. Right. Square Info Display Screen, configurable
The MY16 Expedition EL XLT that I own, with the Navigation option, has the Type 3 instrument cluster.

Correct. Those options are in the Display mode section of the Main Menu.
Also, when you shift into M for Manual mode on the SelectShift/Manu-Matic transmission (all MY15-17 Expeditions have this), the round Analog tachometer automatically pops up on the left screen.

Our '15 has the top one, love it. I believe it comes with the XLT Premium package. The new Expys are odd with their options. I looked at 6 of them before purchasing and all the CarFax said they were King Ranch, when in fact they were all XLT premium (verified VINs). When looking at the factory brochure the only difference between the XLT Premium and King Ranch is the brown leather, embroidered floor mats, and optional retractable running boards.

Do you mean the Equipment Group 202A, which adds around $6755 to the List Price on the sticker?

yep, the dealers kept calling it the Premium package, but the brochure calls it out as 202a.

In MY15, A base King Ranch Expedition, has quite a few features beyond an XLT with the 202a Package Group:

Power-Deployable Caribou paint running boards
Forward Sensing system
Halogen projector headlamps
Rain-sensing windshield wipers
"King Ranch" badging, logos
Mesa Brown leather trim on all 3 rows of seating
A lot of mesa Brown trim elsewhere
Voice-Activated Navigation System with 5yr subscription to Traffic & Travel Link
Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) with cross-Traffic alert
Caribou-painted moldings, bumpers, etc.
