i think the new raptors are awesome. of course the motor is held back a little bit. if you fully built the motor for nothing but high performance then sold it on the public market to anyone with some change in their pocket, you would have blown motors and shot trannys all over the place. a lot of people dont know how to treat a high performance motor(not saying everyone). they think "its made for this, ill just floor it everywhere i go!" 411hp/434 lb-ft is very impressive for a stock truck. the fastest stock ford truck (lightning) only has 380 hp and 450 lb-ft.
A Lightning will waste a new Raptor, I've ran against a few Lightings with my SRT Ram and beat them all but not by much! The Raptor is too heavy for impressive performance.

I'm dead certain that the nannies are seriously in play on the Raptor. Put it in offroad mode with all of the nannies turned off and lock the rear end and it gets along juuuuuuuuust fine! I guarantee you that anyone who gripes about the Raptor's power doesn't have the foggiest of how to operate the various offroad modes. The truck has 4.10 gears and a super low first gear. It LAUNCHES. The 6.2 will walk away from it on roll ons, I'm sure.
99% of the time, more power simply wouldn't be useable up here in Alaska.
It's hands down one of the most fun things ever to offroad the Raptor. Well worth the price of admission.
