Thumbs up Spray wd-40 up your hole

Water drain holes on the bottom of your doors that is. On f 250-350 you have a black rubber splash guard that keeps slush and water from kicking up into the cab, well that rubber guard also hides the early onset of rust, which you wont notice till it starts poking it ugly head up. So use the long red nozzel on you wd-40 can ,and flood each drain hole on the bottom of the door, it will creep down in the pinch weld and hopefully keep rust from forming. after flooding with wd drive the truck so the wd will run inside the door and cover all the pinch weld. P.s do not do this in your driveway, because in sure you can imagin the results. ...,also there are 3 oblong holes on the door bottom flood all 3 on 45 degree angles ,fore and aft. Good Luck.....dont forget to lower the tailgate and do those holes too.

Good advice Dr Ducati.

I have been doing that once a year on my early 99 PSD since new, and my truck is proof that it works. Reps to you.

Smile

I've been doing that since the 70's, got the idea from a rustproofing shop I worked at, I've also done that in the tops of the wheel arches , and the front seam of the hood ,and a good cleaning in the spring and a yearly flushing in one of the hot summer months has kept the rust away on many vehicles over the years!

Fluid Film (now a sponsor here) is a much better choice. surf to fluidfilm and seek a dealer you recognize. Mention FTE for free shipping.

This almost sounds exactly what a product called Fluid Film was meant to do.

Fluid FilmŽ | Corrosion Preventative, Lubricant and Rust Inhibitor

These guys are site sponsors, and awhile ago they offered free samples of it. You guys might want to send him a PM and see if they are still offering it:

http://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/88...m-samples.html

It's supposed to last much longer than solvent-based sprays; they even suggest using it as an undercoating in the winter because it won't wash off easily. I've tried it on my trailer hitch receiver to stop rust. So far, it seems to work as advertised!

We ARE still offering sample cans of Fluid Film for members who haven't tried it and live in the US. Just PM me your name and address and I'll take care of the rest.

That is how confident we are that once you try this product you will recognize its superior quality.

I just got my fluid film sample today, thanks! I can't vouch for it yet but something other than WD-40 I would suggest....WD can actually attract moisture as it sits around...learned that from a machinest who highly suggested not using WD on machinery tops to keep surface rust from forming...he suggested gun oil which I've been using for years and is much better than WD...my new sample of fluid film is headed for my bandsaw etc tops today

I can vouch for it.... used it on 2 outdoor items that were always giving me a headache....a lockl on outdoor shed and the hinges and bearings on my rotating drum compost maker. It's been sprayed for about a month now and even with all the wet weather we'd had here in MD, it looks like the day I put it on! And no more squeaks from the bearings!! When this free can runs dry, I'll be ordering!! And now I know what I'll use the rest up on...thanks toMr Ducati !

I bought 6 cans from Mcmaster-Carr and have 3 left. I use about a full can each winter. Works excellent. Only drawback it takes a few good heavy washings after the winter to get the slight brown film off if you use it on finished pieces like your painted stabilizers etc.. But a quality product.
