Thanks. Those pics were right after removing the bandages for the first time since the surgery two weeks ago... no cleaning up at all before snapping the pics. I am pleased with how well it healed and how cleanly.

As for beating you by 4 staples, Mark, I would rather have been beaten by you by 27 staples!! I hope yours heals well and quickly, too, Mark.

Not gonna read the whole thread but I had the EXACT same thing happen to me. Except my head was pointing towards the motor and feet were under the rear. I work on cars and stuff daily and always use jackstands and shake it to make sure if it falls, at least it won't be on me. Anyways, I was out from under the truck before I even knew what happened. Tried to throw the creeper under the wheel and it just kicked it out of the way. I live at an apartment complex and there is a slight grade. The truck was heading for a set of storage buildings that are dug into the hill (so basically, the roofs of the buildings are at ground level for where we park. Luckily at the place I hit it, the building was sticking out of the ground by about 1 and 1/2 cinderblocks high. The truck hit them, started to roll up and go over, and came back down without going up and over. I swear if it had gone 1 more inch further it was going through the roof. Shook me up pretty bad for a couple days. Live and learn I guess.

Hey Pete. Looks like you are healing up just fine. I choked the tires of my truck last weekend while changing out my front springs. Thanks to you, I will be doing this every time I jack the truck up.

Looks good Pete. I don't think I could ever heal that quickly and without the brusing. Impressive.

Well, I agreed to try some homeopathic medicines from a close neighbor during the week after the surgery, and I guess they actually helped everything heal up nicely because I typically don't heal quite that quickly either. It feels SO much better without those staples in there, too!! Almost NO pricking or random pinching feelings any more.

Looks good Pete. It's going to be work, but it'll get back close to what it once was. I would love to see those x-rays if you can get your hands on them.

I'll get them one way or another. I've snooped around the internet looking for similar xrays, and have found some, but I've only found one that sort of matches my situation close enough to be posted as "comparable".

The pic below differs from my own situation in two ways:
1) the screws in the large bone are at a much steeper angle in my leg, and
2) the plate and screws on the smaller bone was several inches higher up in my leg than in the xray below (the bottom of my plate is at about where teh second screw from the top is in the pic below, and I actually have three screws on either side of my fracture there).

Got the staples out this morning. Everything is healing up very nicley. Pics below (not for anyone who gets nauseous seeing medical pics).

Next week they will do an MRI on my knee to make sure there is no major soft tissue damage around the kneecap. I'll see the doc again in three weeks and hopefully then be able to start therapy and putting some weight on the ankle again.

Thus far, just because I can't as easily get up for snacks as often and carry them back to the sofa, I've lost about 15 lbs.

Its not even halloween yet! we got almost a year togo!

looks like they screwed some of that muffler strapping onto the bone from the parts store.
