Wow.......

It would be interesting to know the story on the bronco, it appears that someone had quite a bit of time and money in it. At least in the cage.....

It was ok. Not the best design or work - but not bad.

Tenant left it in a buddies house when he bailed on the rent, etc. Buddy needed it out of his hair and I was looking for a motor for my 74 supercab...

My buddy had said the cage was 2" tube and therefore I was gonna try and salvage some of it to use in the supercab as well. It turned out to be 1.75" and ERW - not DOM so it'll go in my "scrap pieces" pile and get re-used in odd jobs.

Then there's the motor. It's a 302 - not the 351w I wanted - so it's for sale to get the $$ to buy a 351 - haha

abandoning

seems crazy to just abandon stuff like that when you leave. Seems like he would have hauled it somewhere or something......

people are crazy anymore.

yeah - I don't get it. I guess he was 3+ months late in the rent and my buddy kept trying to get ahold of him and one day went to the house and the key was on the mantle and the place was empty. Well, empty aside from the PILES of crap and the bronco in the garage.

Good deal for me though. I've only sold 1 part off the thing so far and I've already over doubled the $$ I have in it

So hopefully this thing will end up getting me that 351w for free and then a few bucks to spend on the crew as well.

I've got some hours in cutting it up for sure - but that's actually kinda theraputic for me

I understand, I love cuttin' stuff up. I dismantled my second chopsaw and use to cut up car scrap, works pretty slick, gotta be pretty careful not to let get away from ya.......I imagine it would make a nice big burnt hole if too much carelessness was utilized......scrap steel needs to go back up, too much work for the little $/lb you get in return....

I don't even bother with actually taking the scrap steel. I just give it to a local guy who takes it. I am a pack rat and save EVERYTHING to re-use. So if it goes in my scrap steel bin - it really is pretty worthless.

And yeah - scrap steel does need to go up - but then materials prices would go up with it. So nevermind - I'd rather have materials stay cheap!

D'oh - my thread was almost on page 2 - that means I have not been working on this thing enough recently:doh:

I did some work the night before last and then last night. Not a ton - but I got back to work on finishing up my spring hanger for the front now that I've pretty much finished cutting up that bronco.

Here's what I did the other night that I forgot to post
I got all the holes drilled last night and got both sides tacked on.

I didn't get as much done as I wanted last night because a buddy came over to the shop and we spent more time fartin around and talking - but I did lay some beads down.

Not much got done this weekend as I had to help my buddy lay a patio all day saturday and then I cleaned out grandma's yard all day sunday.

I did get a little bit in. More to come tonight.

A little welding

One side painted

Started the final pair of shackles while the paint dried

The hope is by christmas but we'll see. The reality is I've alreayd TOTALLY missed every date I've set for having it running thus far.

I am waiting on getting my d60 back from a buddy who is building it and that has taken a lot longer than either of us imagined.

I'm REALLY hoping to get it soon as I need it to move forward with the truck at this point really

Got the other set of front shackles welded up and tonight they'll get painted.

I also got the final weld layed on that cross member and it got painted.

Now all I need is my d60 and I can put the truck together and fire this bad boy up!
