Oh. That's hillarious. Unfortunately I don't have a son-in-law (not old enough) but I do have a father-in-law that will help me.

I just got a call earlier today from the shop. It seems my Olympicare coverage expired at the first of October. They wanted $325 to fix. I said thanks but no thanks, I'll do it myself. Now where do I order from?

I ordered from Ed the parts guy supporter on this site. The 2005 rear door regulator was right at $100 delivered.

do a search for Ed the parts guy you will find him.

it's the window regulator. They cost @$130 at a parts shop- @$150 from a dealership. Not that big of a deal to replace yourself. May take 30 min to an hour, depending on how good you are at that sort of thing.

I didn't realize Ed was the y2k parts guy. I've ordered a couple of parts in the past from his website. Fast service and the correct part. I'll be checking that out in a few days. I'm out of town right now.

none of my windows have fallen but I notice on the switch for the drivers side front window the switch seems like it gets stuck when trying to get the window to come up...goin down is fine when I want the window to come up I may have to hit the switch 2 3 or 4 times any ideas or is this a common problem?

2005 Right Rear Window Cable Tangled

This afternoon, my right rear window quit working. I removed the door panel and the cable was all tangled up. I pushed the window up and used wooden tapered shims to wedge the window closed. Advance Auto has a rebuilt Cardone Window Lift Motor (42-3040)for $62. I'm not sure if this is what I need. I'll take it apart tomorrow. I read that someone had a repair procedure written. Has it been posted.
Thanks

Very common problem. Do a little digging and you'll find a number of threads on this. But it's very easy to remove the switch. Then open it up and clean the contacts. This will improve things for a little while, but a new switch is in your future.

Ed, when I looked up the drivers door regulator on your site I didn't see it list different parts for different body configurations (super cab vs the others) what is the right part number to order for my 07 supercab? My window is getting slower by the day, so I'm thinking it's time to fix it.

Well my FX4 pass side window reg is shot... the window comes up very slow and needs help... At that as well. Also my driver side window switch is messed up. My auto window down dose not work but it sure comes up pretty quick... think i need a new switch and or i have to take it out and clean the contacts.
