fuel system depressurized???????

im asking this question for a friend at work he said some one had told him he had to depresurrize the fuel system by taking the fuse out then tryin to start the engine so he could change the fuel filter and asked me to find out if this is true please could some one tell me if this is correct or not and if not the correct way to do it thank you have a nice day

I just cracked the fitting a smidge when I changed the filter. The worst part about the whole operation for me is the stupid plastic clips which always break.

just let the car sit for a while the preasure will relieve it self. then you can do it no problem
