Have you ever checked out JC Whitney? It's a mail order catalog, they've also got a website. Here's a link to the page of consoles. They've got all sorts-bench, bucket, floor, overhead, under-seat, locking. Check it out. Select Product Category - JCWhitney
My dad got two of the contoured bench-seat consoles 7 years ago. They've held up well. 150k miles on the truck with 3 cross-country vacations and many, many long trips. The padded top has held up well considering all the time spent with elbows digging into it.
They're held in place with the middle seat belt. On the bottom of the console you'll find a fabric loop. The seat belt is routed through this loop and then fastened like normal.
Need to remove the console? Un-buckle the seat belt, feed the belt out through the loop, and take it out. Takes about 1 minute total.
I think they're great, they've held up well, and when the budget allows I'll get one for my own rig.

Those would probly be nice but you'd be better off pulling from a newer Ford, a 60/40 setup

These seats in my Toyota are from an S-10... you get the idea

Benefits of a bench with the benefits of a center console plus the comfort of buckets.

Something like this

$60 at my local junkyard

The best aftermarket center console for full size benches I've ever used is the TSI Clutter Catcher II. Fits perfect, comfortable, and can be used as a cooler if neeed.... Clutter Catcher II Bench Seat Console

I was considering a 60/40 seat myself but after seeing the prices of them I decided I'd have to hit the lottery to get one.

Howz this for a clean install. Told the seats and console are from an early model Navigator. Seen the truck at Mississippi's "Cruizin the Coast" and a local car show here in town last June.

I was considering one of those consoles for my bench, and it would've needed a seat cover too. I ended up just buying some nice Bronco buckets out of the junkyard for almost $40 less than the console and a seat cover.
