Is the 4" 45* pipe something you made or did you buy it from napa as well?

You buy the pipe seperatly from the filter. I just used a 45* 4" PVC pipe from my local hardware store and it is working just fine, it was supposed to be temporary but you know how that **** goes haha. I would just buy the bent up 45* so you can use the rest of your stock for the exhaust, it's a relatively cheap piece and the filter is cheapest from fleetfilters.com.

not very many shops can bend 4" tubing. Exhaust dies for benders only go up to 3" and its a whole other machine for larger pipe. Kits aren't terribly expensive though.

With the 45* PVC pipe did you have to add any length to it so that the filter is placed out of the way? I have done a similar mod on another engine but it was kinda totally different and am hoping to avoid a bunch of trips to the hardware store. Thanks for all the help. Where would I look for info on mid to high rpm missing/whitish blue smoke...

start a thread about it. gives us the info on the truck and exactly what it's doing. more people will see it this way and will be able to give you some insight on it. almost sounds like injector o-rings though. start a thread and go from there

I made mine using exhaust tubing. I bought a 90* elbow and 2 feet of pipe. I have enough left over to make a 2nd one for a buddy of mine. It was probably more expensive for me to make this than it needed to be. I spent about 100.00 in parts. LOL

Napa is NOT the cheapest place to purchase stuff.LOL

You can try the hardware store. Get the filter first so you can test fit the pipe. You might try a big truck supply store or someplace that sells 4inch pipe. I bought mine from NAPA because it was easy and they had the parts in stock.

I like 4inch. Others have installed 5 inch. Still others like stacks. If I were you, I would look at some trucks that have already been done so you can get an idea of what you like.

I did the 6637 mod today with a 45* 4" black PVC elbow. Kinda of a big a.. filter. I didn't notice much differance over what the stock set up but I think that is due to the dp being stock. I found a used dp for 20 bones so I will do the ebpv mod tomorrow and install the dp. Should be interesting. Anyone near Spokane Wa?

Sounds good. Moving right along with the mods.

The air filter mod compliments the exhaust mod by allowing more air in after the exhaust is opened up.
