Then there was that white wiring harness plug on the right side that was in the way of getting the core out but finally got it removed but it was a beast. Got the heater core out but had to really tug at it. Now I am a bit cautious as to how to get the replacement in there w/o hurting it. Its tight in there. Don't know how to tell if the old core was bad as it looks fine but we shall see. I am so mad at myself ...the salvaged core I got cost me $40 and I should have checked a new one first......$23 at Auto Zone or Advanced Auto. I had to laugh at your original instructions saying this...."the total time to remove and replace a heater core is no more than 1/2 hour for someone that does not know what they are doing." I must really know what I am doing because its taken hours so far....lol. Any tricks to get the replacement core up in there?

do you have air conditioning??
cause on my trucks with the AC, it is a very simple job.
and there is no wires that are anywhere near the core on the AC trucks.
unless there is that much of a difference between the 87-91 trucks and the 92. i never did my 92, i sold it when it was only 5 years old.

Yep my '92 has AC. They must have changed the glove box/access panel config on the '92. Big white wire harness and some other wires. I saw instructions for mid '80s F150 heater cores and you had to take the whole dash out!!! Going for a ride to see if the heater works.

At least its D O N E and thanks again for your help.

UPDATE.....My test drive was successful...I have HEAT for the first time in a couple of years.
