In Texas I believe anything 25 over the speed limit they can cuff ya and take you in.

Doesn't stop me from running 95-100 in middle of no where 2 lane farm/ranch roads. I doubt the state police would take me in for that. Now if I were running that fast down I-35 with moderate traffic I think they should.

is it 25 over or double the speed limit. i have always been told double. or if your going over 100 they can take you right in. I had a state boy stop me one time for racing in my mustang. i was doing 115 and he let me off for 75 in a 55. but there was no traffic and it was a 6 lane road.

its been a few years since i was in a math class, but me memory is pretty good...... by my calculations you only need to do 56 to pass a car that is doing 55.......it may take you a while to pass him at that speed, but 60-65 should get you by him pretty quickly. so whats the problem when you hit your rev limiter? is he going so fast at 45 that hes keeping you from moving back into the proper lane even though youre doing 95? do you move over into the other lane 8 miles back and then try to pass him before another car comes at you?

Actually, any traffic stop is technically an arrest, and the citation is, in effect, a personal recognizance bond. They can haul you in for 5MPH over, assuming the jail sergeant will accept it. And of course it varies per state.

As far as the rest of the debate, as usual, I asked a question and a few turds had to jump in the punchbowl. Just let it drop, k? thxbai.

there are no "turds jumping in the punch bowl" here. we just dont understand your logic of needing to do 95 to pass a slow moving vehicle doing 45. personally, i dont care if you want to run your truck 130 mph. as long as you do it on a road where youre not putting other people at risk, have at it. but your argument has me a bit perplexed.
