1963 f-100

I have a '63 f-100. The bed on it looks like the one from the '57-'60 fords and because of that it doesn't seem to match the rest of the truck. Did it come from the factory like that? I saw another truck from 1962 with the same bed at the Western Nats.

Did it come from the factory like that? YES.

Welcome to FTE

It looks wrong, but...the 1957/60 Styleside bed was used on the following:

1961/66 F350's / 1961/65 F100/250 4WD's / 1966 F250 4WD's, and..

1963 F100/250 2WD's.

The Uni was canceled midyear 1963. In order to continue to have a 2WD Styleside, Ford used the 1957/60 bed on these trucks.

btw: I was at the Western Nats, and answered a TON of questions from FTE and non FTE members alike.

I also have a 63 and a couple weeks ago it broke down. It starts up and runs real strong for about a minute then kind of putters out and dies. I replaced the fuel pump thinking that might be the problem but that didnt fix it. i was curious to see if anyone else has had this problem or any reccomendations to get my truck up and running again

I had an issue like that. I replaced the fuel filter and fuel pump and that fixed it, try the fuel filter.

i guess it might be a possibility, i was able to figure out that it was an issue with the fuel system on my truck because only half of the jets were supplying fuel because there wasn't enough gas getting to the engine.

garbz2 has a good reputation on FTE. garbz2 has a good reputation on FTE.
Same front one as a unibody and the same rear one, as the rear bumper is a carry over from 57 to 60........
