Paint color on my 53

I had someone tell me they thought the green color on my 53 was chelsea green used around 75-76 on ford trucks. I have tried searching for this but cannot find a paint chip showing what it looked like. Can anyone help?

Well Pappy I'm not seeing it on the 75 or 76 Ford Panit chip charts.

HOWEVER, it IS on the 1972 chart listed as "Chelsea Green Poly"
The paint codes are M5019A and V-2421.

Look Familiar?

Here's the chips:

And the site you can check the color specs or order the paint from:

Good luck!

No such color as Chelsea Green for 1953.

What is the COLOR code on your trucks Rating Plate?

1953: G = SEAFOAM GREEN // R = MEADOW GREEN.

I think Pappy was saying the truck was repainted with the Cheales Green from a later model and wanted to know what year the newer paint was from and the codes.

You are right Julie, that was what I was asking. I took it by O'Reilly's because they have a scanner. They did not come up with anything close to it. So I am thinking samethig 55 f350 found out. It is something someone mixed up.

Ya but that doesn't matter Pappy. The scanners are impressive, but there are lots of variables in paint colors on the vehicle esepecially with metalic paints. If it is reduced a little extra, it will appear more silver and with less color. If it is shot over gray primer as opposed to red oxide or black, it will appear lighter - especially with fewer coats. ...Fading over time.

I don't know, the chip on the page (even for an internet representation) looked pretty close to that on your truck. If you are looking for some of the same color, you can always have it scanned and mixed (but be sure to do it on a cloudy day).

And Kevin, who are you trying to fool by telling people you mixed different paints together. We all know you actually peel the paint off doner cars and glue it back down to your truck!!!!!
