Not trying to jerk your chain guy cause it sounds like you have already been pulled thru a knot hole backwards! The Insurance Companys do not have the tallest buildings in town by being the nice guys. Your Insurance Company will certaintly go after the Dealership to recoup their loss on your truck, I'm sure the Dealership has some type of signage stating that they have no responsibility for theft loss or damage. Ford is not liable for any of this if I understand the sequence of events. Your beef is with the Dealer and you will have to lawyer up to get any restitution from them. Your Insurance Co is only concerned with getting their money back, you are on your own unfortunately.Good Luck and as they say " The squeeky wheel gets the grease" just dont know how much time and money you have to throw at this mess.

I concur! They're working with me to find an 09 of my liking which is great but dollars off talk! I'll see exactly how much they'll take care of me when the numbers start flying. A man is nothing without his word so if they're blowing smoke and we can't come to a middle ground then the nice guy stuff is out the door! I have legal standing by.

I probabaly would be seeing an attorney for advice by now and perhaps have a letter written to the dealer by him that you do expect to be compensated for your loss that occurred while your truck was in their control in a timely fashion. I really wouldn't want to have to sue, but I would expect them to do more than they have so far. Maybe a letter from an attorney would speed things up some for you and maybe not. But I darn sure would be making some noise to the owner(s) of the stealership.
If it happened to me, I'd use my insurance also. That's what it's for and won't count against him in the loosest sense of the word. They will go after the dealership and recoup every penny they pay out. Trust me. they will also give a better deal than going through them. When I get hit by someone else, I ALWAYS go through my insurance, and let them go after the other persons insurance company. I can take my vehicle anywhere I want, and get the whole damn thing painted if I'm worried about it matching. Insurance company to insurance company is like "here's the bill", and it gets paid. If you try to deal with the other party's insurance company, it's like pulling teeth.

I've been watching this unfold for some time now and all i can say is "How big of a bottle of KY do you have?" i just can't believe what you have gone through. I feel horreble for you. I think if this happened to me I don't think I could have contained myself. While I see it being a bit of a stretch to get of 09 for an 04, there is a lot of egg on these guy's faces right now and make sure you rub it in. They owe you a lot more than they think.

Smile Update

Well we haggled a bit but I got an 09 SuperCrew with all the bells and whistles minus the power running boards( which I didnt care for) and the Platinum badging. Initial price was 46.9(sticker), ended up with it for 34K plus tax & tags. Probably could have done a little better but I'm ready for this to end. That included a tonneay cover and some 700 3 yr interior/exterior package plus some other stuff they nickle and dime you.
What do you think? Its the Royal Red, which looks burgundy to me with a tan leather interior. Roof too. The Nav is awesome!

lucky

I've spent the last several days haggling on a 2 different 09 FX4's. MSRP is $39,315 & $39,020 for them...each is being offered for $42,000

best I can get the Dealers to accept is a little under $39,000 for each truck...so basically the asking price - rebates.

Wish I had a Dealership willing to deal like you apparently have

It's real nice. The reason my deal got done, as you all are aware that followed the story, was because of the theft of my vehicle. The GM was willing to go pretty far to remove this blackeye. Also I had Ford Corporate playing big brother. So they didn't want to piss me off... Plus my insurance company is more than likely going after them for the money they paid me, which was very good! I guess it worked out for me in the end but I don't want to do this again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Glad it worked out. I tried what I thought would be an easy replacement of my plugs today and now have 3 broken off in the head, 1 out and 4 I haven't touched yet.
I'm pissed at Ford for designing this crap...
