are michelin ltx A/T 2's worth over 2 times wrangler at/s's?

i am looking for a set of 275/65/20 tires for my FWD gas super duty
i was wondering if the michelin LTX A/Ts at $303 were worth the extra money relative to the goodyear Wrangler AT/Ss at $139

thanks

bayou barataria is gaining momentum as a positive member of FTE.
I had a went through a few sets of michelin tires on one of my vans, they handle the weight really well, but they are soft rubber and don't last as long as some other brands. I have b.f. goodrich all terrains now, I had a set on my pickup years ago and they lasted for 40,000 miles.

That is a tough pill to swallow. I am generally inclined against GY truck tires. I had just really bad experiences with the wranglers I have had. I did go with LTX M/S on my SD last time and loved them. Much better ride, wear etc.

That said, I couldn't stomach the salty price last time so went with the BFG Rugged Trail. Wear is excellent, ride great, traction not terrific, although in 4x4 that issue is muted.

my .02 is you stay away from GY. Look for a good BFG to suit your needs, or look around for better pricing on the Michelins. It shouldn't cost you $1,200 to get your truck shod.

I went through 2 sets of the Goodyears and switched to the Michelins.

So far the wear is better and for me the most important thing is that the tires keep their roundness and the truck rides much better.

I got ~25K per set of Goodyears and so far have 17K on the Michelins and have plenty of wear left. I'm sure I'll get at least 30 to 35K out of them
