Ok, I am possibly very lucky. I pulled the bed (only had to cut 4 bolts) and pulled the sender/ pickup assy from the tank and the float and rod were laying in the bottom of the tank. The sender still works though. I put the rod back on the sender and added a nut to the back of it to keep it from coming out again, even though the clips on the sender did snap good on the rod. Also added a washer and nut on the end of the rod to keep the float from coming off again. I ohmed the sender several times and all seems well, will know just how good it works once I drive it some and dont have a full tank anymore.
