Tranny was just rebuilt after he recieved his truck back. It seemed to start blowing off really fast while under acceleration u could hear a leak and really would bad flutter after the hard shift! We where thinking waste gate the entire time so he order a banks big head yesterday! But if there is anything else he should know about i would appreciate it thanks!
It's not the wastegate. In fact, it's impossible to hear the wastegate on these trucks.
As Rich pointed out, it's a compressor surge or stall issue. Surge happens on acceleration or when the engine is somewhat "loaded". You can really hear it with an open intake, and if you have a boost gauge, you can watch the needle bounce up and down rapidly. Stall happens on shifts, where you have higher RPM's, higher boost, then suddenly the RPM's drop, but you still have all this incoming airflow.
