A few post down there is the Ball Joint replacement thread and his pic are very informative.
I'm getting ready to replace my joint and when I pulled the spindle bearing i found the needle bearings had jumped their races and scored the ?? outer shaft??
I replaced this bearing about ? 4-5 years ago...and wonder if i goofed then...or if the shaft was scored then and I didn't know.
The hub then cost $500...I just found some on line for $169 but need to verify the #...it seems too good to be true.
