I just swapped mine out but didn't have a crowsfoot to remove the old one. I just used a plumber's basin wrench and popped it right out. Here's a pic of the old and new side by side as well as the new one installed. I had to use the basin wrench to install the new one too so the nut's a little scarred.
What ever works, guy. Glad you got it out and your happy. Did you clean the plug real good with electrical contact cleaner and put a little dialectric grease on the purple boot? They are usually pretty oily by the time they are swapped out.
