Exclamation CAM PHASERS MAY OR MAY NOT BE COVERED BY EXTENDED WARRANTY?? WHAT GIVES??

My situation is this, I finally found a dealer to diagnose my "ticking" 2004 5.4 motor and they said I need new valve covers, timing cover, 2 phasers and 2 tensioners. Truck has 58,000 miles and has ticked for a while but I think it is getting slightly worse? I don't notice any power loss and have no check engine light codes at all. According to my extended warranty provider however, they have to send out an adjuster to verify the problem/noise. Then they said if it is just noise they will not cover it, nor will they cover it if it is an "update to the motor" situation like Ford's TSB for this issue. They said it will only be covered if the parts look to be "failing." For those that know more about motors than me, is this issue due to failing parts and do you think it will be worth a dealer tearing my motor down to show an adjuster? I just don't want to waste anyone's time if the adjuster is just going to say no. Any thoughts appreciated...
