I would think that return would cause the oil in the turbo to back up and not drain properly. Since gravity is working against it.
You could always weld a bung into the oil pan then if you ever ran into a problem you could just plug it.
Cant wait for a video.
EDIT: I just read that you have an oil pump. NVM then..
