The fogs will illuminate in either the Automatic, parking light, or headlight position. A real fog light system also has low mounted, bright tail lights but few North American vehicles have these.

Opps! Yes..fog lights are what I meant.
I did find this other article but still unsure if it applies the '07+.
Dave's F-150 Fog Notes
It's a cheaper alternative than installing a set behind the grille and I have not found a set that are low profile that will beam through the openings in the grille. My other issue is that I have mesh grille inserts and I'm wondering how much of the light will be blocked behind them.
I'm up for suggestions! I posted this question before but didn't really get much feedback.
