Release the fuel pressure first.

Donʻt place yourself directly under the fuel filter.
(more fuel will spill out than you would think)

One hand has to hold the coupling while you push the release tool in.
Make sure you push the release tool in evenly.

That bracket is sized just right to move the filter forward and aft to get
the couplings freed from the filter.
