Tried "food grade" hydraulic fluid, running like crap!

I got a 55 gal of used "food grade" hyd fluid for "free" on Craigslist. After draining the water from my filters I got her running. The exhaust smells down right "caustic" and kinda burns the senses. And I'm guessing because it's alot thicker than #2, it takes a bit longer to get through the injector so consequently I get lousy acceleration with occasional sputtering at idle. BUT, the engine is a LOT quieter LOL. I figure I had about 20 gals B100, pumped in about 15 gals or hyd fluid, and then put in 9 gals of #2 tonight to thin it all out a little. Woulda put more #2, but only have a 55 gal tank.... So after running the tank with #2 in it, it seems to have gotten a bit louder, and has a bit better acceleration. I figure I'll just keep it topped off with #2 till it's good and thinned out. Hoping that works!
