I have articles on putting in a V8. You have to do some modifications to the doghouse on the rightside and it involves some floor cutting. The seat brackets I'm not sure of.
If you put a V8 look for a old 289 or 260 ford engine from the old Falcons, Comets Fairlanes. They may not need any modifications, because they are smaller than the 302 engine. They fit nice and snug in their old cars.
260/289/302 are all the same size externally.
