My 2000 Navigator has the 5.4 DOHC N/A engine at about 300 hp and I read that the 2002 had a 5.4 DOHC with the supercharger putting out about 385 hp. In my opinion that IS an improvement.

the early Navi's had a 4.6 4v motor...then around 2002-2004 they got the 5.4 4v motor...but never were supercharged.
that 4.6 4v is highly sought after by the 96-04 Mustang guys. It apparently has forged internals, and is the same motor as the 01 Cobra. kinda funny, but I've heard more discussion about Navigators in the Mustang community than I ever had from an actual Expy/Navi forum
the 5.4 4v version is rated at 300 HP, and is a pretty nice motor.
@ Moto, if you can, grab the 2002-2004 Harley 5.4 2v motor with blower. it's pretty much a direct swap into your Expy, and you can run almost 400 HP with tuning & pulley
