It is the Injection Control Pressure sensor. It reads the pressure of the high pressure oil in the drivers side head and uses that reading, along with other data points to control the duty cycle of the IPR (injection pressure regulator) which will then increase or decrease the oil pressure going to the heads that fires the fuel injectors.

Unplugging the sensor makes the PCM assume default readings from a pre-programmed table.
