I don't know what your six weighs but the 429/460 is heavy at 720 pounds. Compare that to a 351W at around 550 or a 289/302 at 460. My guess is that your six is around 375-400 pounds. The old straight axle will handle the extra weight or if you go with an IFS you can adjust it with the proper coil springs.
