Well, i am thinking of heading the same route that you are, just about 6 months or a year behind ya. I dont know much about those transmission, but the mechanic that i was talking to about it said that on the several swaps he has done from the powerstroke to cummins have been straightforward and easy when you consider what your doing. The stock trans on the powerstroke is fine, but if your coming from a 5.4 like me it wont work. Easiest bet from what im hearing is to go with the adapter kits from this place called De-stroked and to be ready to spend on the nickel and dime parts that pop up.
