to be honest, the Raptor is an awesome idea, but the only real reason to buy one IMO is for the body package and the 6.2 motor. You can build a similarly able F-150 for $10-15,000 cheaper that will perform admirably in most 4x4 situations....except Baja of course.
I think why they wouldnt market the Raptor to 25-40yr olds with kids, is because they market that "similiarly able F150 for 10-15k cheaper" to the family man. Its a specialty truck and they probably dont expect to see really high sales numbers. I mean (IMO of course) who would buy a baja race truck to haul the kiddies to walmart. Same thing goes for a Corvette, you cant haul a family around in one of them, but they still sell and they come with a pretty high price tag.
