Do you think there is that much difference in the pressure applied to axles? I mean a 38x15.50 and a 40x17.50 isn't going to change much IMO. They'll both twist a stub shaft off in a heartbeat.

I think you should go with the big dogs up front. That way you're not always kicking yourself later for not doing it.

Besides, there's 30 years worth of Dana 44's in the salvage yards. Parts are cheap and they're easy to work on. Plus if you save your money for the strong parts you can build a 44 a lot stronger than a stock 60. Likely not any more expensive than a junkyard 60 too.

Unless of course the 60 is just an "I want it" thing.....in which case I understand completely.
