The problem was not the switch, it was the plug that goes to the switch. Terminals 9 and 10 that control the low beam circuit got hot due to a poor connection. This in turn damaged the harness slightly. I tightened the female spades in the harness and re installed the switch. This will work for the time being but I am shopping for that part of the harness now. I am thinking I should relay the high and low beam circuit to reduce the load to the switch. Has anyone done this? Any ideas on some good quality relays?
