On my 89 f250 w/460 the air intake routes to behind the grill. It has kind of a snout/flap that curves behind the grill and appears to be blocked from getting the full amount of air that would be afforded if the snout/flap were cut off. Anybody cut the end of the intake tube off so it gets a straight shot of air from the grill? It seems that the reason for the curved end is just to keep debris from the air box. Seems like a good filter would keep the debris out and let this monster breath a little.
