Wonder if it`s for real, there`s nothing in the pictures to give it away.

Red valve covers = 260 2V

1960 thru 1965, the engines are black, the valve covers are painted certain colors.

Ford did that so mechanics could look at the color of the valve colors, know what engine size it was.

This system was begun in 1952 when Ford introduced their first OHV engines = 215 I-6 and 317 cid Lincoln Y block.

1952/59 the engines were painted myriad different colors as were the valve covers.

Today: Trying to figure out which color the engine was, what color the covers were on 1952/59 car/trucks is a PITA.

Anudder problem...trucks valve cover colors don't match the cars.

For instance 1965: cars 289 2V covers are gold / 1965 F100/350 352 valve covers are gold.

Beginning in 1966: All the car/truck engines were painted Ford Corporate Blue...including the valve covers.

260's were installed in Sunbeam Tigers...but....there's one problemo....

If you need to change a valve cover gasket...you have to REMOVE the engine...I kid you not.

The firewall had to be dished inwards (tunneled) to allow the 260 to fit...there's about 1/2" between the covers and the firewall.

Falcons got 260's midyear 1963. There were two models, plain jane like this car is, Falcon Sprints, which came with bucket seats and a console.
